Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains how LyraTech LLC (“LyraTech”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects personal information through the gitby website at this stage of the product: a pre-launch page that collects email addresses for a waitlist. gitby is a product of LyraTech LLC, a limited liability company registered in the United States (EIN 42-3482939).
1. What we collect
We collect only what you give us:
- Email address, collected when you join the waitlist.
- Consent record, the fact that you accepted this policy, with a timestamp.
- Basic technical data, meaning standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested), kept briefly for security and to keep the site working.
We do not use advertising trackers, we do not build profiles, and we do not collect anything else behind the scenes.
2. How we use it
- To send you the gitby launch announcement and, at most, occasional pre-launch updates about gitby.
- To operate, secure, and debug the website.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We will not sell, rent, or trade your email address. We will not use it for unrelated marketing.
3. Legal basis
Where laws such as the GDPR apply, we process your email address on the basis of your consent, given when you tick the checkbox and join the waitlist. You can withdraw consent at any time (see section 7). Server logs are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure service.
4. Who we share it with
Your data is shared only with service providers we use to run the site and deliver email, for example a hosting provider and an email delivery service, under contracts that limit what they may do with it. We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or as part of a merger or acquisition of LyraTech LLC (in which case this policy continues to apply to data collected under it).
5. Retention
We keep your email address until gitby launches and the announcement has been sent, or until you unsubscribe, whichever comes first, after which it is deleted. If you unsubscribe, we remove your address from the waitlist within 30 days. Server logs are kept for no more than 90 days.
6. Security
Waitlist data is stored with access limited to LyraTech staff who need it, protected by authentication and encryption in transit. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but an email address is the only personal data we hold about you, and we treat it accordingly.
7. Your rights
You can, at any time:
- Unsubscribe: every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
- Access, correct, or delete your data: email us and we will act within 30 days.
- Withdraw consent, with the same effect as unsubscribing.
- Complain to your local data protection authority, if one has jurisdiction where you live.
Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, or California), some of these rights are guaranteed by law. We honor them for everyone regardless.
8. Children
The waitlist is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has joined the list, contact us and we will delete the address.
9. International transfers
LyraTech LLC operates from the United States, so your data is processed there. Where required, transfers from other jurisdictions rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that affects how your email address is used, we will email the waitlist before the change takes effect. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
